Friedrich August Schurig founded F.A. SCHURIG as an inkle weaving mill with home-based weavers.

After his death, his son Martin Schurig entered the company

Construction of a modern factory plant with weaving mill, customisation and finishing  for ribbons and tapes of all kinds

Establishment of a global export business with his wife Hedwig Schurig

1945-1946 /

Restart of production after the forced leasing as a result of the  war

1955 /

Mr. Christian Tietze joins the company F. A. SCHURIG as a shareholder

Mr. Martin Schurig dies at the age of 93

1961 /

Start of specialisation of the range, in particular, in the direction of decorative ribbons

1972  /

Compulsory nationalisation of the company as «VEB Dekoband»

Christian Tietze again founds, at the age of 70, his company after the compulsory nationalisation. He sets his son, Frank Tietze, up as a managing director.
